PS3s DAYS ARE NUMBERED

hackers have finally got hold of the master key to code the ps3.
this makes them untraceable and gives them unlimited access to the system. basically they can do anything sony can do.
Piracy is now only a month or 2 away which doesnt really bother me but it means ppl can now cheat online with no fear of being caught and banned.
hackers can even release firmware updates to brick your system. sony have filed court papers this morning but its already too late.
this is terrible news for all gamers with ps3 set to become far worse than the 360 ever was or will be

Seen that recently myself lad, honestly think it could to a lot of ppl takin the ps3 offline in fear of viruses etc.

Don't think it would be the death of the PS3, but I do think it could spell the end of online gaming on the PS3, if Sony don't know how to counter-act this real soon.

Only possible solution in my eyes, is that if they hurried the next generation in, aka PS4, but they really have to make the next console with security in mind.

While typinbg this I realised what they should do, they should allow ThreatFire & AVG be downloaded unto the PS3, and these guys could develop a PS3-friendly Antivirus, what yas think?

its worse than getting viruses. with the control they have now, they could write code that disables every game you have. it wont be a virus. it'll be legit, so anti virus software couldnt prevent it.
my only advice is dont download any firmware updates until you check the official forums to ensure its a legit sony update first.

Woah, never visualised something of that scale happening to PS3! There must be some way to counteract this.
IF I am in the position where I am too scared to go online for fear of fucking up my console I think I'll just sell it.
Damn shame.
